The school operates out of a community hall in 6 Redgewood Place, Woodview, Phoenix. Classes are held every Saturday mornings from 07:30 until 09:00. The classes are led by Guru Deshan ‘Styler’ Naidoo himself.

The lessons follow a strict and rigid syllabus for each Level.

• Level 1 consists of 21 lessons. This is a beginner level.
• Level 2 consists of 22 lessons. This is an intermediate level.
• The Level 3 syllabus, due to its advanced stage is evolving as Guru Naidoo is crafting a series of special lessons of increasing difficulty and complexity.

Students are issued with formal notes for each lesson and this is used as a reference when practicing and studying for the examinations.

Students write formal examinations to get promoted from one Level to the next. Once the Level 2 final examination is completed successfully, students formally graduate to Level 3. There is a formal graduation ceremony that is held to commemorate this important milestone in the student’s and Guru’s life.

Concerts and performances are held throughout the year to familiarise the students with public performance and to build confidence.

During the trying times of the COVID Pandemic, the tabla school continued unabated. Lessons shifted to an online teaching platform. Students were able to progress despite the challenging restrictions.
